PSYCHOANALYTICAL AND PSYCHODYNAMIC APPROACH
Psychoanalytical and psychodynamic therapy are deeply rooted in psychoanalysis, which recognizes that our behavior, feelings, and thoughts are not solely products of conscious will but are also influenced by unconscious conflicts that give rise to symptoms. The psychodynamic approach delves into the psychological and emotional forces at play in an individual's mind and places significant emphasis on the therapeutic relationship between the psychotherapist and the patient. In this approach, the psychotherapist actively engages in collaborative exploration with the patient, akin to an archaeological journey, to uncover and interpret conflicts and their unconscious influences through memories and experiences.

The aim is to alleviate symptoms and facilitate the patient's self-awareness regarding their patterns and inner resources. The foundation of this therapeutical work lies in the therapeutic power of verbal expression: “Healing by Talking”.

My approach involves employing methods such as:
-
Free association, encouraging clients to communicate their genuine feelings and thoughts
-
Dreams interpretation
-
Identifying conscious resistances
-
Resignifying painful narratives and experiences
-
Recognizing ambivalences and needs
-
Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT)
SYSTEMIC APPROACH
The systemic therapy approach encompasses not only individual forces and conflicts but also considers the interrelationships within other systems the individual is connected to, including cultural, work, family, educational, and linguistic contexts. By focusing on the individual's broader context, systemic therapy aims to identify and understand dysfunctional dynamics and interactions within these systems, fostering positive change and breaking free from ingrained patterns. Unlike a linear perspective, this approach embraces a circular outlook, pragmatically addressing interrelationship patterns.
I understand my subject of work as unique and has its own way, dynamic and tools to overcome challenges. Together with each client, I determine collaboratively the most suitable psychological counseling approach, as well define the appropriate settings of length and duration of therapy considering individual needs and goals. The initial introductory appointment plays a crucial role in defining this process.

My therapy approach has foundations on the psychodynamic clinical psychology, psychoanalysis, and systemic therapy. I understand individuals within their relationships and communication with others, with the environment and specially with themselves. At my practice, I seek to guide clients to reflect and understand the causes behind their feelings and symptoms, being aware of patterns as well needs and desires. Together, we explore solutions to their challenges, taking into account their resources, needs, environmental context, and personal identities.
